Position Overview

Ledgent Finance & Accounting's client is actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join their team in Gainesville, GA. This supervisory position offers the opportunity to lead and manage accounting operations across multiple business entities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, with a focus on financial reporting, consolidations, and internal controls.

Responsibilities

  • Own and lead all accounting operations across multiple business entities, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of financial data.
  • Direct the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, delivering timely and reliable financial statements and insights.
  • Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, including reconciliations, journal entries, and intercompany activity.
  • Establish and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls in compliance with GAAP.
  • Partner with external auditors, tax advisors, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and compliant reporting.
  • Oversee multi-entity financial consolidations, ensuring standardized and accurate reporting across the organization.
  • Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations, resolving discrepancies efficiently.
  • Support the integration of newly acquired entities, aligning financial processes, systems, and reporting structures.
  • Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and working capital, providing visibility and recommendations to leadership.
  • Partner with executive and operational leaders on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning efforts.
  • Deliver actionable financial analysis and reporting to support business performance and decision-making.
  • Drive continuous improvement of accounting systems, processes, and workflows to enhance scalability and efficiency.
  • Support ERP optimization and reporting capabilities (NetSuite experience preferred but not required).
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering accountability and high performance.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to improve financial transparency, operational alignment, and overall business outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibility.
  • CPA strongly preferred.
  • Strong background in multi-entity accounting and financial consolidations.
  • Deep understanding of financial reporting, close processes, and internal controls (GAAP).
  • Experience in high-growth, private equity-backed, or multi-company environments preferred.
  • Experience in operationally complex industries (e.g., construction, manufacturing, home services) is a plus.
  • ERP system experience required (NetSuite preferred, not required).
  • QuickBooks Enterprise experience strongly preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills required.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.

Required Work Hours

Monday - Friday, standard first shift hours.
